GAIL BOOTH
Gail, initially a watercolorist, unexpectedly discovered her love of oils, light, color, and the impressionist perspective in mid-life. Currently her work in oils spans both impressionism and expressionism. She does not desire to duplicate what she observes but tries to stir an impression in the viewer as she allows room for her own personal expression. While emphasizing the light, Gail wants the freedom to portray as much movement and passion as she chooses.
A native Tulsan and the mother of three grown sons, Gail spends her time painting in her widely admired american cottage garden. She is an avid painter of still lifes, landscapes, and figures. She also does workshops and demos.
Gail, an eager student of art, has studied under such teachers as Gay Faulkenberry, Ann Templeton, Carolyn Anderson, Ken Auster, and Morgan Samuel Price.
She was honored to receive a Donald G. Reynolds Foundation Art Grant. Her work has been accepted for exhibit at the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa and she has been invited to participate in many exhibitions and juried shows throughout the Southwest. Her paintings are also shown at Pierson Gallery in Tulsa.
